Description: During the 8th annual AIM Institute Research to Practice Symposium, distinguished speakers will discuss the topic of the role of resiliency in the classroom--why not all children respond to reading instruction and what teachers need to know. (ALTA Credit Hours are already approved for in-person attendance. I am requesting ALTA Credit Hour approval for a group to "attend" the Symposium together online through live-streaming).

Presenter(s): Speakers include: Stephanie Al Otaiba, Ph.D., professor of Teaching and Learning at Southern Methodist University and currently serving on the IDA executive board; Fumiko Hoeft, MD, Ph.D., professor of Psychological Sciences and Director of Brain Imaging Research Center at the University of Connecticut and a neuroscientist interested in reading and dyslexia; and Maureen Lovett, Ph.D., Director of the Learning Disabilities Research Program at The Hospital for Sick Children and a Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto.
