Structured Literacy integrates instruction in phonology, sound-symbol relationships, syllables, morphology, grammatical and text structure, and word and text meaning to support reading comprehension. Join us for a day of research-based knowledge and instructional methods that support reading skill development for all students, shared by three nationally recognized literacy experts. Dr. Louisa Moats will share what skilled reading teachers need to know and do; Dr. Louise Spear-Swerling will compare Structured Literacy instruction to typical literacy practices, and Dr. Margie Gillis will discuss how to best support teacher implementation of Structured Literacy practices.
